Mcdonalds Green Arch?
This article was really interesting to me, because it is about McDonald's changing their arch from the classic red and gold, to hunter green to support their going green. In great Britain and France they have started to make the change over to the green, and the article also said that 100 franchises in Germany are expected to make the change by the end of this year. When i was first reading this i was thinking that that alone can't make them green. Then as i was reading more i realized that they really are trying, because they are getting LEED certified. As we learned before LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environment Design Maybe McDonald's will start changing their restaurants to be more green. That will be a really interesting change to see.

this article is very interesting because before i started looking for articles on green and sustainability i originally didnt think there would be anything and i didnt think mcdonalds or other major chains were really doing anything because their profits wouldnt hurt as much as it would a smaller resturant
ReplyDeleteWell if McDonalds really does that, I think a lot of people will see them differently. I think this will give them more business (not like they really need it though) and have customers not think of them so negatively. I like that they've been trying to change their image. It's really good for consumers and other fast food chains.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely an influential way to help more people be aware of the "going green" trend. Everyone is so accustomed to seeing the "golden arches" and obviously associate them with McDonald's. When people start seeing the green arches, it will probably make them curious and want to know more about the change. This curiosity will hopefully help these people to realize how important it is for the environment for restaurants (and everyone really) to "go green." Hopefully this will increase the desire for people to become more involved in helping the environment!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. A majority of people know of the golden arches, and that its its been gold for years. For people to see the huge noticable color change, it's a big hint to society. Glad to see they're changing and want the rest of the world to as well.
